Sundeep Vira is a social entrepreneur, educator, and longtime advocate for expanding opportunity for young people in Chicago. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer of The Academy Group, where he helped lead an organization dedicated to supporting students with long-term academic, leadership, and career development paths. Sundeep now dedicates much of his work to building partnerships across Chicago that help learners access the support systems they need to succeed. As a co-founder of the Youth Opportunity Clinic, he plays a central leadership role in advancing the initiative, working to design programs, build partnerships with schools and community organizations, and connect young people with the services, mentorship, and opportunities they need to navigate Chicago’s education system and thrive.
Brooke McKean is a social impact leader and entrepreneur dedicated to expanding opportunity for youth across Chicago. She previously served in executive leadership roles at Chicago Scholars, where she helped grow programs supporting students on their path to college and career success, and is the co-founder of REACH Pathways, which connects students to mentorship and professional opportunities. As a co-founder of the Youth Opportunity Clinic, Brooke plays a pivotal role in building partnerships and designing programs that ensure students across Chicago can access the guidance, networks, and resources they need to thrive.
Timothy Schwertfeger is a civic leader, investor, and longtime advocate for expanding educational opportunity for young people across Chicago. He is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nuveen Investments and founder of Chicago Scholars, as well as the co-founder of the Ariel Nuveen Investment Program, initiatives that have helped thousands of Chicago students access college pathways, mentorship, and financial literacy education. As a co-founder of the Youth Opportunity Clinic, he brings decades of leadership and deep commitment to strengthening educational pathways for students across the city.
